Charles F. "Chuck" Schaefer

Chuck Schaefer, 79, passed away on March 17, 2023.  He was born March 21, 1943 in Wilmar, California to the late Frank and Beulah Schaefer. 

After retirement from his 30-year career in the U.S. Navy, Chuck and his wife Liz settled in Ohio.

Besides his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Schaefer and sister, Penny Ison.  He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Schaefer; daughter, Cindy (Derek) Stine; son, Raymond (Suzanne) Schaefer; step-son, James Gelet; granddaughters, Ashley (Reid) Mahne and Jordan Schaefer; step-grandson, Robert Stine; 2 great-granddaughters; sister, Sondra (Jon) Low; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 P.M. TODAY, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 11 A.M. on Friday, March 24, 2023.
