Carolyn Brabham, 91, passed away on August 25, 2022. She was born in Columbus on January 11, 1931, to the late Clifford and Mary (Cartmill) Billips. She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1949 and married Jerry Brabham on October 8, 1950. She worked as a legal secretary until the birth of their son, Robert Scott Brabham “Bob Scott” on July 1, 1962.
Carolyn shared a passion for music with her family. They all sang in their own gospel quartets and as soloists over the years. She had a deep love for family, particularly her nieces and nephews, their children, and their children’s children. She was the ever-loving “Aunt Carolyn” to all.
Along with her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; son, Scott; brother Bobby (Pauline) Billips; sister, Patsy (James) Garber; nieces, Jill Garber and Jennifer Vanaman.
She is survived by nephews, Gary (Shirley) Billips, Richard (Jennifer) Vanaman, James (Christy), Jeffrey (Diane), and Jerry Garber; beloved great-nephews, David (Christina) Billips, Gregory and James (Melanie) Vanaman, Billy (Michelle), Jason (Myra), and Joshua Garber; treasured great-nieces, Mary Jill (Donavon) Powell, Elizabeth (Christopher) Cooper, and Victoria (Matthew) Kaloplastos; dearly loved great-great-nieces and nephews, Daylen and Camryn Billips, Kierstyn (Nolan) Williams, Peighton Powell, Sean (Emmy) Garber, Jonathan, Caleb, Isaac, David, Christopher, Jasmine, Mia, and Jago Garber, Sarah Jennifer, Abagail, John, Daniel, Stephen, Nathan, Mary, and Uriah Vanaman, Lucie and Jameson Cooper, and Beau Kaloplastos; as well as great-great-great-nephew and nieces, Baracaia and Lavender Garber, Paisley and Gabriella Williams.
Funeral services will be held at NOON on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the Cottage Grove E. C. Church, 3133 Cottage Grove Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Kevin Baker officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
