Betty J. (Brunton) Smith

Betty Smith, 85, passed away April 30, 2021.  She was born November 17, 1935 in Akron to the late Alexander and Elizabeth Brunton.  Betty was a devoted member of St Francis De Sales in Coventry Township and donated her time to several Catholic organizations.

Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Smith; son, Michael Smith; daughter, Annemarie Smith; brother, Robert Brunton and sister, Joanne Thur.  She is survived by her sons, Steven (Rhonda), William (Rebecca Adrion), Timothy, James (Susan), Jeremiah (Catrina) and Thaddeus Smith; daughters, Kathleen (Edward) Edmisten, Janet (Terry) Young, Theresa (Robert) Davis and Christine (Keith) Race; sister, Barbara Stubblefield; as well as 30 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thank you to her daughter, Theresa and grandson, Shawn who assisted in her care for the past few years.

A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E. Waterloo Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Fr.
