We are sad to announce that our beautiful mom, Arlene Hinkle, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 2, 1932, in Akron where she remained a resident her entire life. Arlene was a 1950 graduate of Coventry High School. Arlene had 2 sisters and though far apart in age, she and her sisters had a very close relationship with each other.
Soon after graduation, she was married and starting a family. She had a very wonderful, full life. Her 4 children adored her and did not stray far from the nest. Mom was the kindest, sweetest person that absolutely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were the light of her life and she will be missed deeply.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Reynold and Estella Kiplinger, and sister, Louise (Gary) Meyer. She is survived by her sons, Rick (Donna), Dan (Kim), and Mike Hinkle; daughter, Vicki Hinkle; grandchildren, Ryan (Marilyn), Heather, Jeff, Briana (Jeff), Alex, and Dylan (Lindsay); 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (David) Sherrill; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.
