Amelia (Zuazo) Frock

Amelia Frock, 81, of Akron passed away on August 20, 2022. Amelia was born in Castildelgado, Spain on December 28, 1940, to the late Agustin Zuazo & Florentina Martinez Zuazo. 

Amelia was such a strong woman with an undeniable presence that could not be mistaken for another. She may have been short in stature, but her spirit, generosity, and conversation were overabundant and rich. Her tireless energy, orneriness, stubbornness, and unique sense of humor will surely be missed by her family and all that knew her. She was extremely philosophical and very transparent with her thoughts on an abundance of topics from religion to politics and everything in between.

There were no strangers known to Amelia, as she had the ability and desire to strike up a conversation with just about anybody. Her spunky, colorful personality and feisty, prideful attitude made her one of a kind, and one certainly always knew where they stood with her. She was extremely loyal to those she loved and respected. Her loyalty and pride were also evident qualities that extended into her career with a long-standing tenure of 28 years as a retail clerk and 22 years in childcare for the YMCA.

Our faithful prayer is that she is watching over us in heaven, drinking all the coffee that she loved oh so much, telling all of her stories, and making everyone laugh. We will rest in her being in heaven, feeling a sense of peace, and no longer suffering. 

Along with her parents, Amelia was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Veronica Frock, and all of her many loving aunts and uncles in Spain.  She is survived by her loving children, Matthew (Stephanie) Frock, and Ana (Jason) Herceg; grandchildren, Breanna Frock, Mia Herceg, and Malakai Herceg; brother, Roberto (Mercedes) Zuazo of Spain; as well as nieces, nephews, many cousins, and other family members in Spain.

Per Amelia’s wishes, family and friends will remember her at a private gathering.
