William F. Chieda

Bill Chieda, 71, passed away on December 15, 2017.  He was born in Akron on May 1, 1946 to the late Andrew and Helen Chieda. Bill was a 1964 graduate of Coventry High School and received his Associates Degree in Engineering from the American Technical Institutes in 1968.  Bill retired in 2013 with 46 years of service at GBC Design in Akron. Bill was known for his genuine acts of kindness, original gifts, and love for his family. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, and spending time with his friends and family; especially his buddies Carter and Charlie, who kept him feeling young and vibrant.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 27 years, Sharon Chieda; brothers, Robert and Andy Chieda; brothers-in-law, Monte Boley and Don McPherson.  He is survived by his loving daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Wagner; grandchildren, Carter and Hannah; sisters, Betty McPherson and Marilyn Boley; friend and companion, Sheila Rayman and her son Charlie; nephews, Andy (Katie) Chieda, Aaron (Karen) Boley, Drew (Jenny) Chieda, Mark (Theresa) Chieda, Evan Chieda; nieces, Meredith (Kyle) Dees, Elizabeth Chieda; long time best friend, Bob Brown; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 6 P.M. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd, Akron, OH 44319 (SR 619) with Fr.
