Chuck Borner, 78, was called home on January 2, 2019. He was born June 1, 1940 in Akron to the late Frederick and Correne Borner. Chuck was a 1958 graduate of Kenmore High School and earned his business degree from The University of Akron. While in college Chuck played baseball and was an incredible athlete; he also enjoyed coaching throughout his life.
Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was employed for over 40 years at Akron Welding/Praxair. Chuck was very proud to be a Deacon and devoted member of Lakeview Christian Church. He loved his family, sports, and his faith and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; children, Jeff (Diane) Salamon, Jill Simmons, Doug (Vui) Salamon, Lisa (Kirk) Deverick and Kristin Guyton; grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob, Christian, Bob, Allison (Clint), Nicholas, Joshua (Sarai), Luke (Cierra), Kaleb, Tyler, Sydney and Julia; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Terry) Elmert; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 6 P.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Lakeview Christian Church, 4613 S. Main St., Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Darryl Moulder officiating.
