Virginia "Ginny" L. Ujcich

Ginny Ujcich, 68, of Jackson Township went into the loving arms of the Lord on April 25, 2017, after battling a long illness.  She was born July 30, 1948 in Akron, Ohio. 

Ginny has always been an affectionate and nurturing person. She loved hosting get-togethers and holiday parties for family and friends. Ginny enjoyed coaching her son’s baseball games and baking with grandkids later on in life. She loved shopping for antiques at garage sales and in Amish Country, with her husband Joe. Ginny also liked decorating and reading Danielle Steel novels. She was always the first person to take care of anyone in need and her home always had an open door. She has always been one to show compassion and kindness to others. In her younger years, Ginny was always her mother’s little helper and she was very close with her sisters. 

Ginny was preceded in death by her father, Charles Scaffidi, her parents, Carl and Mary Wasson and her late husband, William Holibaugh. She is survived by her loving husband, of 23 years, Joseph Ujcich, Sr.; sons, Jim (Julianna) Holibaugh, Dave (Lisa) Holibaugh, Joey (Tiffany) Holibaugh, Tim Holibaugh, Joe (Jennifer) Ujcich, Jr., and Jim (Michelle) Granaas; daughters, Jodi Debout and Wendy (John) Zucket sisters,Charlotte (Mike) Fawcett, Diane Scaffidi, Kathy (Jeff) Yanof, Vickie (Nick) Pursell, Carla (Dave) Renemans and Simone (Doug) Wallingford as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  

Ginny touched the hearts of everyone she knew.  
If there was one person in this world that loved her family… It was Ginny!!
If there was one person that loved me… It was Ginny.
If there was one person that would be there for you and defend you…. It was Ginny.
If there was one person that could fix your heart when it hurt…. It was Ginny.
I don’t know how she will kiss our hurting hearts now that she has left this world.
But I do believe she will be doing whatever she can from Heaven.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Tim Jensen officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 P.M. or for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.  Memorial contributions may be made in Ginny’s name to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 BoettlerOaks Dr., STE E, Uniontown, Ohio 44685.  To leave a special message online for the family, please visit www.schermesserfh.com.
