Stacey Kapper Obituary

Stacey Kapper, 53, passed away May 16, 2018, surrounded by family and friends.  She was born July 4, 1964 in Norfolk, Virginia.  Stacey spent more than 30 years in the mortgage industry, a job that she loved, and was so proud to do each day. Work was always more than just a job, it was a place of relationship and friendship building, and her colleagues turned into life-long friends.

Her children were her most precious work. You couldn’t have a conversation with her without her face lighting up and at least one funny story (past or present) about her kids.  Her greatest joy in life revolved around watching them smile, laugh, and grow into wonderful, amazing adults. She was so proud that Kellen attended The Ohio State University and that he now is a software engineer at Tartan Solutions. The day McKenna graduated from Ashland University with her nursing degree was one of her proudest moments. She told everyone who would listen that her daughter was a registered nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital. Stacey might have had two kids of her own, but she also had many special “bonus kids” that she loved like her own.

To know her was to love her. Stacey’s smile goes for miles and all the way to the heavens above. Her infectious laugh is now heard among the angels and she is shining in the sun.

“And He will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of His Hand.”

Stacey was preceded in death by her brother, Chris “Friffer” DiSpina, grandparents, Joe and Vera DiSpina, grandmother, Sue Johnson.  She is survived by her parents, Ron and Carole DiSpina; son, Kellen; daughter, McKenna Kapper; the loving father of her children, Pat Kapper; loving sister, Angi (Tony) Shumate; sister-in-law, Chrissy DiSpina; nieces and nephews, Cody, Nolan, and Molly Shumate, Joey, and Vince DiSpina; special aunt, Jo and uncle, Gordon; lifelong friends, Kris, Micki, Darla, Lee, and her beloved dog, Sir Pudgeworth III; her “nieces” Andrea, Jacqui, and Krissy and their loving families; as well as many, many other family members and friends.
