Sheree A. (Rollic) Abernathy

Sheree Abernathy left this Earth on June 2, 2018 to be reunited with her husband of 41 years, Harry, and twin daughters, Bridget and Brittany.  She was born March 2, 1958 in Barberton to George and Donna Rollic.  Sheree fought a short, but hard and courageous battle with lung cancer.  She kept her faith and fought like a warrior. Even after hospice was brought in, she continued to talk of her plans for when she got better.  Sheree was a very strong woman who lived her life to take care of others and what an amazing job she did!  Her family, especially her grandchildren, were the focus and light of her life.

Sheree recently retired, with 24 years of service, from Coventry Local Schools; another big part of her family.  She was also a member of the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club Ladies Auxiliary for 23 years.   

In addition to her husband and daughters, Sheree was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Rollic Montgomery; father-in-law, Ray Abernathy; and mother-in-law, Betty Webb.  She is survived by her daughter, Brandi (Dennis) Carmichael; grandchildren, Brandon and Angel Carmichael; sister, Sandi (Pat) Hayhurst; brother, Donnie (Betty) Rollic; mother-in-law, Darlene Abernathy; brothers-in-law, Mark Abernathy and Bob Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Carol Dronebarger, Kathy Copeland, Linda Hostler and Sue Cromwell; numerous nieces, nephews, family and a host of friends.

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of Summa Home Hospice and the Cooper Cancer Center for the love and care they gave to our Momma. 

At Sheree’s request, there will be no formal services.  All are welcome to attend a celebration of her life from 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at The Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club, 4551 Dusty’s Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Memorial contributions may be made in Sheree’s name to the TSC Men’s or Women’s Scholarship Fund.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
