Rudolph C. Soppi

Rudy Soppi, 80, of Portage Lakes passed away September 22, 2017.  He was born January 30, 1937 in Akron to the late Anton and Sophie Soppi.  Rudy graduated from St. Mary’s in 1955, proudly served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Goodyear Aircraft Braking.   

Rudy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Jane; sisters, Rosie and Julie; brother, Eddie; and sons-in-law, Larry Susa and Jerry Kujath.  He is survived by his loving children, Lori Susa, Julie (Paul) Robinson, Denise Kujath, and Paul (Cindy) Soppi and Jane (David) Hutchings; grandchildren, Stephanie Turner, Melissa (Ben) West, Amanda (Andrew) Winkelblech, John Kujath, Mary Jane Kujath, Kayla Robinson, Sarah Soppi, Adam Hutchings, Nicole Soppi, Lauren Kujath, Hope Hutchings, Faith Hutchings, Olivia Lutsy and Allison Soppi; great-grandchildren, Vincenzo Capotosto, Nolan Martin and Anthony Winkelblech (arriving in November); as well as many other loving family and friends.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff of the Cooper Cancer Center and Summa Hospice.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Fr.
