Robert Lawrence Stouffer

October 31, 1925 ~ March 21, 2019 (age 93)

Bob Stouffer, 93, passed away March 21, 2019.  He was born October 31, 1925 in Derry, Pennsylvania to the late Henry and Catherine Stouffer. Bob served in WWII as a member of the 8th Army Air Corps stationed in England. He completed 28 missions over enemy occupied territory as a gunner in the B-17s. He was married in 1947 to Mildred Robertson until separated by death after 65 years. He was a lifelong member of brick layers local #7, Akron Ohio. He enjoyed his family, gardening and serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

 

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  He is survived by his loving children, Bobby (Patty) Stouffer and Sharan (John) Holtz; grandchildren, Lael (Elaina) Stouffer, Tiffany (Aaron) Moritz, Russell (Mary) Stouffer, Rachel Holtz and John (Clarissa) Holtz; 9 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio following.  Memorial contributions can be made in Bob’s name to Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Attn: Tess, 275 E.
