Robert Stephanoff

Robert Stephanoff, 88, passed away May 19, 2019.  He was born February 10, 1931 in Barberton, son of the late Alex and Lena Stephanoff, and was a life-long resident of Akron. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Garfield High School and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #703 in Parma, Ohio.  Robert retired from Babcock & Wilcox Co. Nuclear Equipment Division with 43 years of service.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and shooting sports; and most recently playing golf.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Austin.  He is survived by his sons, Robert L. (Chris) Stephanoff, Jr. and Ron (Sandra) Stephanoff; daughter, Janice (Rick) Croasmun; grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Samulak, Melanie (Brian) Sargent, Marc (Autumn) Croasmun, Angela (Randy) Clark, Jonathan Stephanoff, Tonya (Larry Chapman) Stephanoff, Shaun (Mary) Stephanoff, and Michael (Julia) Knapp; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Basil Stephanoff.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Very Rev. Don Freude officiating.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 3 to 7 P.M. with a Parastas service at 7 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at Lakewood Cemetery.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
