Robert A. Lappin

Bob Lappin, 76, passed away May 9, 2019. He was born on May 6, 1943 in Akron to the late Windsor and Lucille Lappin. Bob graduated in 1962 from Cuyahoga Falls High School as a star athlete.  He served in the U.S. Army and construction work was his occupation for the next 35 years.  Bob never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and he would help anyone if he knew them or not.  Bob and his wife, Linda, enjoyed traveling and checking out casinos.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Darren; and brother, Clyde.  He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Jason Burns; daughter, Heather Lindsey; grandchildren, Eric, Adisen and Alyssa Lindsey; sister-in-law, Barbara Derlich; best friends, Harry Dill and Billy Hagerman; as well as many many beloved friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Todd Tackett officiating.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be made in Bob’s name to the American Heart and Stroke Association, Great Rivers Affiliate, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
