Ray L. Rogers

Ray Rogers, 73, of Green passed away February 13, 2018 at home, with his loving family by his side after a 7-month battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.  He was born July 14, 1944 in Young Harris, GA to the late Clarence Rogers and Virginia Rogers-Stephens.   

Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his step-dad, John Stephens and granddaughter, Deanna Jerin.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Karen; daughters, Tammy (Jerin) Anderson, Theresa (Brian) Moore, and Dawn (Chuck) Magill; grandchildren, Cassandra (Audie) Myers, Amanda (Stephen) Gavolas, Joshua Moore, Justin Moore, Kayla Moore, Taylor (Chelsey) Magill, Andrew (Tiffany) Magill, and Timothy Magill; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Pat), Earl (Diane) and James Rogers; sisters, Peggy (Mel) Staten and Sue (Michael) Reese; as well as many other loving family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Glenn Rogers officiating.  Family and friends may call on Saturday from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations can be made to the family to help offset medical expenses.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
