Norma Kathleen (Eckert) Stocker

Kathleen Stocker, 91, passed away July 3, 2017.  She was born April 15, 1926 in Medina County to the late Ralph and Garnet Eckert.  A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kathleen and her husband Richard lived for many years in Firestone Park and later in Manchester and Barberton.  She worked at businesses in the community including Amedeo’s Florist and Lucky Shoes. She was a long-time member of Firestone Park Presbyterian Church.  Her love and care for her family will be greatly missed.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Stocker; step-mother, Phyllis Eckert; 3 brothers and 1 sister.  She is survived by her loving children, Claudia (Ted) Lushch, Gail (Rich) Patti, Elaine (Richard) Crock and Paul (Denise) Stocker; grandchildren, Mandy (Pete), Joshua, Ben (Katie), Richard, Katie, Joey and James; great-grandchildren, Teddy, Hayes and Grace; 4 brothers and 3 sisters; as well as many other family and friends    

The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Residence in Wadsworth for their wonderful care of Kathleen during her time there.

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rev. Frances Fischer officiating.  Family and friends may call on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen’s name to Firestone Park Presbyterian Church, 275 S.
