Mary Jane (Butcher) Gould

Mary Gould, 76, died peacefully at her home on April 16, 2017, after a long illness.  Mary was born August 11, 1940 in Weston, WV, to the late Herman Butcher and Bessie Brown.  Mary retired from Phillips Machine and Stamping. She was a founding member of the Manchester Soccer Club as a player and coached many kids over the years.  She enjoyed life, family vacations and spending time with her family.  She cherished her husband, girls, and grandkids.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Thelma Butcher, Velma Matthews, and Rose Ellen Eubank; brothers, Herman Butcher Jr. and Matthew Butcher.  Mary will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Robert; daughters, Mary (John) Logar and Christina Shepard; grandchildren, Kayla Shepard, Hanna Shepard, and Cameron Logar; siblings, Alice Fields, Bessie “Betty” Smith, Harry Robert (Fran) Butcher, and Ina Butler. She also leaves behind her loving brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 5 to 8 P.M., and also for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.  Interment will be at Manchester Cemetery.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
