Joy Lee Steinmetz

Joy Steinmetz, 60, of New Franklin passed away July 10, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born July 19, 1956 in Akron and was a 1974 graduate of Garfield.  Joy retired from AMHA on June 30, 2017 with 30 ½ years of service.  Joy had many passions in life -- her family, her dogs, going out to breakfast, “Stampin Up” with her friends, and attending Akron First Assembly of God Church.    

Joy was preceded in death by her son, Danny Barron; dad, Frank Grof; stepdad, Clarence Bearer; and fur-baby Bella.  She is survived by her husband, of 15 years, Tom Steinmetz; son, Matthew Barron; granddaughter, Gwenavyre; sisters, Carla (Anthony) D’Eramo and Connie Frances; mother Ruth (Jim) Grof; special friend, Patty (Bill) Csonka; as well as many other family and friends.  

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd.
