Jerry Miller, 71, of Green passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 12, 2019, after a lengthy and courageous battle with PSP. He was born March 10, 1947 in Akron to the late William and Donna Miller, grew up in Portage Lakes and lived locally for his entire life. He was a 1965 graduate of Coventry High School, served in the National Guard and retired from Emerald Performance (formerly BG Goodrich) with more than 40 years of service. Jerry was a loving and caring husband, patient father and fun-loving Poppy. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, cheering on the Indians, Browns, Cavs and Buckeyes and was a member of Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club. His quiet strength and dignity were an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son Gerald. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan; sons, Jody and Jason (Eva) Miller; daughters, Kim (John) Anderson, Andria (Jason) Presutto, and Michelle (Mike) Lyons; grandchildren, Ryan Miller, Paul Gableman, Joshua and Lauryn Anderson, Ellise and Nicolas Presutto, Ella, Lily and Emily Lyons, Nathan, Nolan and Nicholas Miller; great granddaughter, Rilynn Myers; brothers, Bill (Phyllis) and Bob (Mary Jo) Miller; sister, Karen McCrady; as well as many other loving family and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tara Souders for her patience, compassion and attentiveness while caring for Jerry, Phil Ridgeway for keeping Jerry looking sharp, and Clear Path Hospice for providing care and support.
