Dorianne Smith, 60, passed away May 4, 2019 surrounded by family and friends at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice Care Center. She was born November 6, 1958 in Ithaca, NY to Theodore and Swanhild Voneida. Dorianne graduated from Cleveland Heights High School subsequently attending Kent State University for her career in Computer Sciences. She retired from Micro Infinity Services Inc which she co-founded as an applications programmer/analyst. Most notably, Dorianne had a deep, abiding love for her husband, Ralph, and an unquenchable love and pride for their beautiful daughter, Emily.
Dorianne was beloved by many for her kind and generous spirit. She had an infectious laugh and was an animated storyteller; those around her couldn’t help but share in her joy. Dorianne enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, swimming, tennis, and cooking; she had always dreamed of publishing her own cookbook. Every year, Dorianne looked forward to family trips to her parents’ cabin on Bluewater Lake in Minnesota. Dorianne loved Jesus and His Word and shared the Gospel with many throughout her life. She was an ardent member and leader in the Wadsworth Women’s Bible Study Fellowship, and she fellowshipped at Freshwater church in Wadsworth for several years before her death.
Along with her parents, Dorianne is survived by her husband, Ralph Smith; daughter, Emily Smith; brother, Jim Voneida; sister, Audrey (Scott) Bodnar; niece, Allison Voneida; aunt, Marge Bekkedahl; as well as many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law Russell and Mildred Smith;
The Smith family would like to thank the hospice staff and the many nurses and doctors who cared for Dorianne throughout her long fight with cancer. Dorianne knew many of you by name and appreciated all the kindness you showed her.
