Deborah A. Shaffer

Deborah Shaffer, 55, passed away August 17, 2018.

In addition to being a loving wife, daughter, sister, and step-mother, Debbie devoted over four decades to being one of the proprietors of Shaffer’s Market.  Whether unloading trucks, creating beautiful fruit baskets, or keeping the books, her passion always shined through.  Debbie’s countless hours of hard work helped make Shaffer’s Market what it is today.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Ken Shaffer, as well as her grandparents.  She is survived by her loving husband, Doug Miller; mother, Mary; step-children, Nicholas (Leslie) and Lauren; brothers, Mark (Michelle), Robert (Heather) and Andrew (Haylee); sister, Hope (Jamesynn) Portman; nieces and nephews, Mariah, Kenny, Aden, Max, Jasper, and Kenslee.  She also leaves many, many other loving family members and friends. 

A special thank you to Debbie’s angel in disguise, Lisa, a nurse at the Cooper Cancer Center Infusion Center.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at 4 P.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319 (SR 619) with Kevin Noble officiating.  Family and friends may call on Saturday from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Debbie’s name to Manchester Community Church, 930 W.
