Daniel E. Pohl, Jr.

Dan Pohl, 71, passed away December 16, 2018.  He was born October 16, 1947 in Akron to the late Daniel, Sr. and Mercedes Pohl. Dan was a 1965 Ellet graduate and served in Vietnam as a Huey-Cobra mechanic. Upon returning home, he worked several years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. before joining the U.S. Postal Service, from which he retired. Dan was a great fan of The Ohio State football team, watching every game he could.

Dan was preceded in death by his sister, Janeen Pohl. He is survived by his loving sisters, Vicki (Larry) Perkins and Lynne (Mike) Szabo; as well as other family members and friends.

Per Dan’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319. Inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273 at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Please arrive 20 minutes early at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
