Bernice Ann (Miller) Cocciolone
June 15, 1931 ~ April 16, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years OldBernice Ann Cocciolone passed away in her sleep with her children at her side on April 16, 2017. She was born June 15, 1931, in Wall, Pennsylvania to the late Mitch and Ann Miller. Bernice loved life and her family, always giving guidance and help to her children, grandchildren and even her great-grandchildren. While growing up she was a server; she was a parachute packer during WWII, she owned and managed the Russian Club on Arlington St., and later worked and retired from Rockynol in Akron. Always ready for bingo or a trip to a Las Vegas casino, she loved traveling with her faithful dog Chikita.
Bernice was a wonderful mother and friend to many and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Roseann (Tony) Andres; sons, Antonio (Jean) Nicoletti and Michael Nicoletti; brother, Ed Miller; grandchildren, Pete (Lauren) Collins, Nickie (Mike) Collins-Barilla, Jennifer (Don) Tenney and Michael (Ashley) Nicoletti; seven great-grandchildren and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at NOON on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bernice’s name to Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
