Grace E. (Zimmerman) Patterson

Grace Patterson, 97, passed away on March 25, 2024.  She was born at home in Manchester on October 27, 1926, to the late Louis and Ida Zimmerman and lived her entire lifetime in Manchester (New Franklin).

Grace was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife; who loved being with her family, always.  She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling with her husband with senior groups, and bowling.  Grace was a dedicated Christian and her greatest joy was looking forward to being in Heaven with Jesus.  Grace was a longstanding member of Portage Lakes Community Church. 

Along with her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Enos “Pat” Patterson; one brother, and one sister.  She is survived by her loving daughter, Janet (Mike) Hite; grandchildren, Jeff (Stacey) Hite, Heather Bulina, Ashley Hite, and April Johnson; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Charlotte, and Brooklyn.

A funeral service will be held at NOON on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will take place following the service at Manchester Cemetery.  To read more about Grace’s life and to leave a special message for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
