Forrester, I did not know you had passed away. You always reassured those who had the pleasure of just seeing your wonderful smile; you were and still are loved brother, miss you Bill...

Sweet, precious man! Heartbreaking news! He was truly loved and will be sorely missed! I came on the APD, in 1991, with Bill... no matter what, he always greeted everyone with a smile! He was very endearing! We didn't work together or see each other much, but I can say, the thought of him makes my heart smile! My deepest sympathies to his family!

My sincere condolences to Officer Bill Forrester's family at his passing. He was the officer who patrolled my West Akron neighborhood for a number of years. He was a true gentleman, and handled himself with a professional, but cheerful manner. God Bless Bill and your family, his service was truly appreciated, thank you!

I don't believe there is anyone who doesn't smile when they think about Bill. His smile was contagious. His easy manner was welcoming. He had a gift for making everyone he met feel special. Bill was a treasure in the lives he touched. He will be missed. I will treasure the memories he left.

Totally agree. Friendliest guy I’ve ever met. Had the pleasure of being on the same baseball team with him in Little League. Never forget him.

Roberta: That was a wonderful note about Bill. I am just sick learning about this. You may not remember me but I was in your class of 1970 at Firestone. I don't know how one could improve upon your few words that truly captured what a wonderful guy Bill was.

Living in Highland Square, I had a few occasions to meet Officer Forester. The first, and perhaps the most memorable, was when I was rushing off to a meeting driving north on Portage Path. I had absent-mindedly left a large folder of papers and my purse on the trunk of my car. As I drove off, papers were flying all over the place. Officer Forester and his partner spotted me and came to my aid. They were down on their hands and knees gathering those papers until every last one was retrieved!
Who would be so kind? OMG, unbelievable!

Growing up with Bill was always fun and sometimes even eventful. As the youngest, and with that smile, he could always charm his way out of any trouble.
Akron was lucky to catch him in his second career. With his ability to connect with so many people, he really found his calling on patrol. He will be missed.

Bill Forester was a very close friend of mine for many years.
We played little league baseball together for years , wrestled together in junior high and high school ,hung out as friends together for years, vacationed together and lived together at Cedarwood Village apartments after College.
The nicest most caring guy you'd ever meet .
I'm saddened to hear about his passing and I have no doubt he was a great police officer for 25 years.
Everyone who knew you from Litchfield Junior High and Firestone High School will miss you Pal, you were a great friend to all.

Bill used to be my neighbor as a child. I loved his friendliness, great smile, and warm attitude. He would often go to the store and come back with a bag of what he called his "best chips" for me or a loaf of bread or cinnamon buns from the Breadsmith. He always looked out for us. Even after a long shift at work, he'd greet us with a smile if we passed him outside. What a great man. He will be missed.

Bill was one of my favorite cops. He was always smiling and friendly. When my son worked selling pizza, Bill always ordered a piece of chicken for his dog. He was a caring and compassionate person. I will miss hm

I worked with Bill early in my career. His gentle attitude and respect rang forth. No matter what we were facing or what was happening to us, he never miss-spoke, or loss his composure. His smiling face was always a pleasure to see. My condolences to his family, friends and our law enforcement family.

Bill was a regular at the Starbucks I worked at for several years. He had such a big heart! And was always so caring and kind. I can't remember him ever talking badly about anyone and had the warmest smile. It was an honor to have known him.

Bill was my academy classmate. A wonderful person through and through. He lived a few blocks from my home for a good number of years ... and I would see him often out doing yardwork on his day off. He loved dogs and would always make a fuss over my fuzzy boy. Miss his warm smile already... my condolences to his family and our brothers and sisters in blue.
