William "Bill" S. Forester

Bill Forester, 65, of Akron passed away May 11, 2017.  He was born March 21, 1952 in Akron to the late James and Mary Forester.  Bill proudly served on the Akron Police Department for 25 years of service, until his retirement in 2016.  During his years of service, Bill was placed in many difficult situations but he still smiled and cared about everyone he met.  He had a smile that will be remembered by all who knew him.  To honor Bill, perform a random act of kindness for someone -- not just today but every day, as he would. 

Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and James Forester.  He is survived by his nieces, Tammy Spoerri and Tiffany Reynolds-Espinosa; his Blue family of the Akron Police Department; as well as his many other loving friends throughout the Akron area.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 2 P.M. the Wolter Park Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 2610 Ley Dr., Akron, Ohio 44319 with Rev. Bob Denton officiating.  Family and friends may call on Saturday from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the FOP Lodge.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the Victim Assistance Program of Summit County, 150 Furnace Street, Akron, Ohio 44304.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
