Ruth Hughes, 85, of Green passed away February 5, 2017.  She was born June 20, 1931 in Summersville, West Virginia to the late Elmer and Nellie McMillion.  Ruth was a 60+ year member of the Akron Baptist Temple.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, of 46 years, Bill Hughes; brother, Charles and sister, Ruby.  She is survived by her son, Steve (Debbie) Hughes; daughter, Kathy (Greg) Hathaway and Cindy (Tim Wallace) Kungle; grandchildren, Christine (Owen) Parry, Ryan (Jacquie) and Brent Hughes, Kris (Kevin) Wahl, Tracy (John Sloan) Peercy, Ryan Hathaway, Keith Kungle, Kelly (Brian) Burdette, Kerry Kungle and Kasey Wallace; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Ben Adams officiating.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W.
