Roger Blankenship, 64, of Hartville passed away March 21, 2018. He was born October 27, 1953 in Mullins, West Virginia on a farm where he learned the value of hard work. Roger met the love of his life, Linda, at age 17 and they were married for nearly 46 years. Roger deeply loved his three boys and was totally devoted to them. He loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He was a professional guitarist and loved to worship God by playing for his church. His love for God, family and country were the most important things in his life. Roger faithfully completed a 36-year career with Timken Steel and retired in 2009.
Roger was preceded in death by his dad, Fred, and mother, Frances. He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Jason, Jared (Rebecca) and Jesse Blankenship; mom, Juanita Blankenship Culler; mother-in-law, Peggy Cutlip; brothers, Dan (Christian) and Joey Newberry; sisters, Dianne (Greg) Kanode and Pat Muncey; brothers-in-law, Dan (Darla) and Mick (Pam) Cutlip; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Phil) Ricciardi, Sharon (Steve) Edwards and Debbie (Rick) Ricciardi; as well as host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319. A Private Family/Church Family Service will be held on Wednesday at the Summit Pentecostal Church in Monroe Falls. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Roger’s name to Summit Pentecostal Church, 209 N. Moreland Ave., Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262.
