Joyce L. (Reeves) Sanchez

Joy Sanchez, 72, passed away August 4, 2017.  She was born March 16, 1945 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Henry and Hazel Reeves. 

With her beautiful smile and infectious laugh Joy was always endeared and loved by all those who knew her.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends and was always willing to give of herself to the benefit of others.  Joy was caring, generous and was the guiding light for her sons throughout their lives.  Joy was an avid reader and shopper who loved to buy gifts for her family and friends as was her giving nature.  She loved all things colorful and bright reflective of her inner and outer beauty.  Mom, we are all going to miss you beyond what words can explain and are truly thankful for the time shared with you. 

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Sanchez; brothers, Robert, Charles, and Gene Reeves; sisters, Betty Boothe and Doris Oatley.  She is survived by her sons, Joe (Annette) and Mike (Robyn) Sanchez, grandchildren, Justin and Collin Sanchez; sister, Alice Bryant and Judy Flaesgarten; as well as many other loving family and friends.   

Thank you for being “you” and bringing true joy to our lives.  You are our first thought in the morning and the last at the end of each day and that will never change.  Our love for you is everlasting.   

Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Claude McCutcheon officiating.  Family and friends may call on Thursday from NOON until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will be at East Liberty Cemetery.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
