Jeanette Ondecker, 88, passed away peacefully March 3, 2018 surrounded by her children who will miss her deeply. She was born August 24, 1929 in Akron to the late Joseph and Genevieve Wells. She lived most of her life in Akron and the last 24 years in Uniontown, Ohio. She was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she enjoyed cooking and hosting many family gatherings over the years. She also enjoyed golfing, walking, reading, playing bridge and watching the Cavs and Indians. She was a wonderful example of devotion to her faith.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, James Ondecker whom she missed dearly and looked forward to being united with; brother, Nolan Wells; sisters, Margaret Bauer, Beth McGuire, Lucille Kalina and Thelma Weimer. She is survived by daughters, Susan (David) Kline, Nancy (Bill) Sloan, Jeannie (Tim) Angel and Karen (Jerry) Wages; sons, Gary (Teresa), Bob (Sandy) and Paul (Kelli) Ondecker; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Marilyn; her beloved cat, Maxine; as well as many other loving family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 with Fr. David Durkee officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319. Inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
