James Vargo

Jim Vargo, 82, passed away December 3, 2017.  He was born October 9, 1935 in Tunkhannock, PA to the late Michael and Theresa Vargo. Jim was an artistic brick mason that enhanced many gorgeous homes with his craft, including two of his own homes which the family has enjoyed for 44 years. He loved their home on the hill where he also built a special ‘Pac Shack’ for his grandkids to enjoy, maintained a beautiful yard with his cherished John Deere tractor, and trained his dogs Casey & Candee.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by son, Kris; brothers, Julius, Michael, Joseph, and Ernie; sisters, Grace, Rose, Margaret, and Ethel.  He is survived by the love of his life, Jean (Saylor), whom he met in 1956 at the Waterloo Drive-In Restaurant.  He also leaves behind to honor his memories, sons, Mike (Susie) and Tim Vargo; grandchildren, Rachael, Kalli, Teven, Abbie and Drew Vargo; sister, Gladys (Jerry) Hansen; and many nieces, nephews, and loving relatives.

Memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 1 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at Manchester Cemetery at a later date.
