Grace L. (Shultz) Pike

Grace Pike, 94, of Barberton went home to be with her precious Lord on July 6, 2017.  She was born September 5, 1922 in Possum Holler, Ohio to the late Claude and Flora Shultz.  A devoted Christian, Grace was involved in many ministries as a member of the East Liberty Nazarene Church.  Grace served for many years as the church pianist, worked in vacation bible schools, served on the church board, played piano for the Lamplighters trio, and for decades participated in women’s bible studies.  Her life was dedicated to her Lord, her family, and her church. 

The influence on the lives of those who knew her will be felt for decades to come.  She will be missed.  

Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Fred; infant son, Freddy; and sister, Bernice Adams.  She leaves behind her daughters, Karen (David) Hurt and Claudia (Raymond) Todd; son, Dennis (Becky) Pike; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.  

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at East Liberty Church of the Nazarene, 700 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.  Interment will be at East Liberty Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Grace’s name to the church or to the Prader Willi Syndrome Association (USA), 8588 Potter Park, Ste. 500, Sarasota, Florida 34238.  To leave a special message online for the family, visit our website at www.schermesserfh.com.
