David P. Pennington
July 5, 1938 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years OldDavid Pennington, 79, passed away at his home October 1, 2017 after succumbing to a nearly 20 year battle with cancer. “Ole Blue Eyes” put up one hell of a fight. David was born in Akron on July 5, 1938 to the late Dale and Virginia Pennington. He lived his whole life in the Portage Lakes where he became a history buff of the area. Dad served in the US Army and was a retired fireman with the Coventry Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mireille “Frenchie”, and sister, Louise. Left to cherish the loving hilarious memories are his daughters, Katia (Joseph) Sigmund, Laura Pennington, Nelly (Robert) Antulis; and sister, Twila. The legacy will continue with his grandchildren, Monica, Max, David, Samantha, Derek and Natasha; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank the Cleveland Clinic team for all the extra years we had with dad, and the loving care and support from the hospice team in the end – OK, Bye.
