David Edward James

David Edward James, 66, passed away August 3, 2017.  He was born July 26, 1951 in Buckhannon, West Virginia to Geraldine and the late Ralph James and lived in the Akron area his entire life. 

David graduated from Garfield High School in 1969 after which he attended Akron University. After serving in the Army National Guard for 6 years he started a career with Summit County, in the Auditor’s department, as a deputy auditor until his retirement in 2013. David was an animal lover and a huge high school and college football fan. He enjoyed golfing and bowling with his friends and family. He also enjoyed vacationing at the beach; taking in the ocean waves, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. 

Besides his mother, David is survived by his children, David M. (Autumn) James and Kimberly (Scott) Buzzard; grandchildren, Logan and Lexis Buzzard, Ethan and Brooklyn James; brother, Alan (Annette) James; sister, Lynn (John) Jackson; as well as many other loving family and friends.   

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E.
