Betty J. (Chesser) Whitesel

Betty Whitesel, 82, of Green passed away August 24, 2017.  She was born March 5, 1935 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to the late Paul and Elvada Chesser.  Betty lived and raised her family in the City of Green.  She was a graduate of the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing, retiring as an occupational health nurse at Goodrich.  She enjoyed gardening, the farm in West Virginia, and spending time with family. 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and sister, Reta Bisesi.  She is survived by her children, Zachary (Marcie), Dana; and Jamie (Stacy) Whitesel; grandchildren, Jordan, Joshua and Logan Pastor, Hanna Whitesel, Derek and Lily Stahl; brother, Paul (Marie) Chesser; brother-in-law, Joe Bisesi, and sister-in-law, Jean Nagy.

Memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (SR619), Akron, Ohio 44319.  Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at Greensburg Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Ste. 201, Hudson, Ohio 44236 or to Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice, 1530 W.
