Betty I. (Ratcliff) Boyd

Betty Imogene Ratcliff Boyd, 84 years old, of the City of Green, passed away on October 9, 2017.  Betty was born in Monterey, Virginia to the late William Wallace and Mary Virginia Ratcliff and moved to Green when she married her husband Robert (Bob) Boyd in 1954. She was a member of Green Valley UMC.

Betty leaves behind her husband, Bob; children, Bonnie (Jeff) Thorn, Steve (Laurie) Boyd, and Tom (Tricia) Boyd; grandchildren, Jonathan (Meredith) Thorn, Katherine (Ross) Gilhespie, Matthew (Erin) Thorn, Logan Boyd, Jacob Boyd, Nicole Boyd, Isaac Boyd, and Casey Boyd; great-grandchildren, Hana, Josiah, Eli, Micah, Abigail and Ella Thorn and Wesley Gilhespie, who will continue to shine her love into the world.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017at Green Valley United Methodist Church, 620 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd. (619), Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Jeff Croft officiating.  Family and friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 P.M. at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Rd., Akron, Ohio 44319.  Interment will be at East Liberty Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to in Betty’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W.
